Spring has Sprung!

Aren't they gorgeous?!

What an amazingly glorious awesome day it is today!  The weather is perfect, everything is turning green, and the birds are all chirpy and happy.  I’m sitting out on the front porch and life is good.

My daughter and I made out first trip of the spring to our local Farmer’s Market this morning.  Not a lot there yet, but I scored a bunch of beautiful freesias and some local grass-fed lamp chops for grilling tonight.

I got my new double azalea potted, some herbs re-potted, and weeded my little garden spot.  Do you remember when I got so excited because it was like 80 degrees and I knew it was too early to plant but I planted stuff anyway because everyone said it was going to stay mild and then it snowed and then I had to replant everything because nothing came up?  Well guess what?  It has now come up.  All of it.  Both plantings.  I guess the first seeds were sulking because they got cold or something.  Kinda makes me giggle.  It’s all just a big jumble of stuff now because when I planted the second time, I just sorta threw the lettuce seeds in (I think the technical term is “broadcasting”) and sprinkled dirt on top and watered it.  No rows for this gal!  Way too in the box!  Anyway, later that night we had a monsoon and my planter box kinda came apart on one side and some of the dirt came out and now it isn’t level anymore, and most of the lettuce seeds sorta drifted over to one side of the box as the tide went out.  But I’m just a little bit afraid to plant any more lettuce on the other side, just in case the seeds are messing with me again.  (Apparently, I have some deep “seeded” issues…)

I think I just may be a little giddy from the amazing aroma of these freesias on the table beside me. 🙂

So, that’s a piece of my life today.  Happy Spring!
